【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedasameansforobtainingsequentialextractsofawaste.Theextractsmaybeusedtoestimatethereleaseofcertainconstituentsofthewasteunderthelaboratoryconditionsdescribedinthistestmethod.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtoprovideextractsthatarerepresentativeoftheactualleachateproducedfromawasteinthefieldortoproduceextractstobeusedasthesolebasisofengineeringdesign.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtosimulatesite-specificleachingconditions.Ithasnotbeendemonstratedtosimulateactualdisposalsiteleachingconditions.AnintentofthistestmethodisthatthefinalpHofeachoftheextractsreflectstheinteractionoftheextractantwiththebufferingcapacityofthewaste.AnintentofthistestmethodisthatthewaterextractionsreflectconditionswherethewasteisthedominantfactorindeterminingthepHoftheextracts.Thistestmethodproducesextractsthatareamenabletothedeterminationofbothmajorandminorconstituents.Whenminorconstituentsarebeingdetermined,itisespeciallyimportantthatprecautionsaretakeninsamplestorageandhandlingtoavoidpossiblecontaminationofthesamples.Thistestmethodhasbeentestedtodetermineitsapplicabilitytocertaininorganiccomponentsinthewaste.Thistestmethodhasnotbeentestedforapplicabilitytoorganicsubstances,volatilematter(seeNote3in5.15),orbiologicallyactivesamples.Theagitationtechnique,rate,liquid-to-solidratio,andfiltrationconditionsspecifiedintheproceduremaynotbesuitableforextractingalltypesofwastes(seeSections7,8,andthediscussioninAppendixX1).1.1Thistestmethodisaprocedureforthesequentialleachingofawastecontainingatleastfive%solidstogeneratesolutionstobeusedtodeterminetheconstituentsleachedunderthespecifiedtestingconditions.1.2Thistestmethodcallsfortheshakingofaknownweightofwastewithwaterofaspecifiedpurityandtheseparationoftheaqueousphaseforanalysis.Theprocedureisconductedtentimesinsequenceonthesamesampleofwasteandgeneratestenaqueoussolutions.1.3Thistestmethodisintendedtodescribetheprocedureforperformingsequentialbatchextractionsonly.Itdoesnotdescribealltypesofsamplingandanalyticalrequirementsthatmaybeassociatedwithitsapplication.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
